People know me professionally as - playwright, screenwriter, performer, conceptual copywriter, and speechwriter.
That boils down to being a storyteller. So, I feel like I should tell you a story. Settle in, I’ll keep it brief.

Once, there was a young homosexual who had two wolves battling within.
One wolf yearned to show off and perform, while the other was very shy and contemplative, striving to write words so profound they would be remembered for eternity.
He asked himself, "Which wolf would win?", and he answered for some reason, yes he was talking to himself, "the one that keeps the wolves from the door, probably."
He left the mean streets of Stoke-on-Trent and moved to London at sixteen. First, to the BRIT School, then on to win a scholarship to Guildford School of Acting, where he was told he could write plays. Yes, he was so naive that someone had to tell him that he was allowed to be a writer.
The constant curiosity for new ways to tell stories, combined with classical theatre storytelling training, would underpin this tale.
He refined his skills through invitations to writer's programs at prestigious theatres like the Royal Court, Soho, Bush, and Arcola Theatres.
Hustling to get his work seen led him into the realms of digital and social media. He got good at it, and someone then told him that he could do that for a job. So, he began offering his writing services to the world.
Highlights include: Sky Comedy Rep commission, Audible Original series picked out as The Guardian and The Sunday Times; Edinburgh Fringe solo debut, backed by Oxford Playhouse & Pleasance Futures; BAFTA Rocliffe Forum winner, Mercury Weinberger Playwriting Prize finalist; and being listed for Writers’ Guild of Great Britain's Best Play and the Verity Bargate Award.
In his original projects he tended to pursue projects that wove the working-class and LGBTQ+ experience, often through a tragicomic lens. Themes of mental illness, addiction, and trauma recurring.
Writing for others he’d celebrate irreverence, depth, and confidence in their storytelling.
Long-form improvised comedy, solo performances, music, and visual art enriched his work.
That adventure to feed both wolves within him, evolved into a new aspiration, to become to be an "expert-generalist" storyteller.
Someone with the ability and curiosity to master and collect expertise across industries, skills, topics, and capabilities.
The world surely needs storytellers who possess the power to synthesise information and reach beyond binary parameters of niche and sector.
Now, he plans to keep originating projects. To write more stories about issues that he has yet to understand - and to write less about himself in the third person.
But if you’ve read this far, he looks forward to that project you are going to surprise him with too.
*I like the way Perspectiva talk about the “expert-generalist”. More here.
