I work as an outside-eye, dramaturg, creative producer, helping writer's, comedians, and artists, develop unique solo performances. It took me a decade to find the courage to do it myself. And I learnt a lot along the way. Now, I’m here to accompany you on your courageous artistic journey from idea to production

When we don’t have the right support for a creative project, we can get totally lost in self-doubt, get frustrated by a lack of progress, and lost faith in brilliant ideas. I don’t want that for you. If you’re hitting a wall with story development, don’t know why your jokes aren’t landing, are deep in the conceptual bigness of your idea and don’t know what to do next… That’s where I come in. I can help you navigate raw ideas and refine them into performance-ready work.

MY SERVICES

It took me years and many collaborators (who often held back projects) to take the brave step to do it alone. It was terrifying, at times traumatic, but also the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done regarding my artistic development. I want to ride that rollercoaster with you. I can mentor you through the early stages of refining that idea that’s worth pursuing.
Writer-performers need an outside-eye. You need someone shining a light on the work, helping you keep watch on whether you are doing what you set out to do. It’s lonely being a creator, so get an artist friend in there on the journey with you. Please. I can offer script consultancy, or join you through the rehearsal process as your non-judgmental witness who holds you accountable.
If we have great artistic chemistry, I love to lead projects I’ve developed into production, whether that’s noting and directing work-in-progress performances, building a full production, or the whole Edinburgh Festival fiasco (or any other arts festival for that matter).

PLAY

I’ll work alongside you, offering script consultancy, development coaching sessions, reviewing previews, raw material, or we’ll collaborate in rehearsal to find your show.

Refine

We’ll work in a collaborative back and forth and refine through previews and drafts until you’re ready and raring to go.

I will be everything to you that I wish I’d had. A supportive off-stage and off-page peer. A friend. An ally. An honest appraiser. A person that holds you to account whilst keeping a dramaturgical eye on what you set out to do and how much you’re staying on course. And if you’re looking for a director, I’ll be your compassionate, tireless, perfectionist, go-to-person for the whole ride.
Let’s work this out together. If you’re spectacularly organised and have secured funding (amazing!) you can tell me all about your project, and I’ll give you a quote. If like most artists, you’re working on a tight budget and have an undying need to tell your story, I can charge an hourly or session fee. We can structure that so that it’s most useful to you, both artistically and budgetarily. For guidance, a two-hour rehearsal session, including time to read material in advances, costs around £120 online, and £150 in-person. I didn’t create this offering to make my millions, I did it for the goddamn love of it all. So, talk to me. I’ll do my best to offer a sliding scale, and it’ll all be about whether I can balance your beautiful project alongside my other projects.
