These abstract peacock feathers appeared almost perfectly formed as spills from an acrylic pour painting I’d done (but didn’t like). So, I snapped them up with my phone camera and then created this digital piece that mimics a paper cut-out style and is entirely created out of those spillages. I like that these are creatures of the natural world, emerging out of acrylic paint. They insisted on being, despite all my man-made efforts. And the peacock is so proud, so flamboyant, so showy, all traits of my artistic expression that I find challenging to embody.
