What does a creative producer do?
In my view, they make excellent things happen. Great projects often stall. Ideas lose momentum, collaborators are missing, or nobody is quite sure how to take the next step. As a Creative Producer, I bring clarity and momentum. I help projects move from concept to delivery, and assemble the right people to make them happen.
What does a Creative Producer do?
Every project needs something different. Sometimes it’s shaping the idea, building or interrogating the strategy to move it forward, sometimes it’s finding the right team, and for others it’s someone who can lead you through the messy middle to delivery (without anyone getting too dirty). My role is to spot what’s missing and provide it, whether that’s research, development, collaborators, or creative leadership.
Working with me means:
You gain clarity when projects feel stuck
You have a partner who can assemble collaborators you don’t yet have
You keep momentum so ideas don’t stall
You can focus on your vision while I handle what it needs to happen

What is a creative producer? And other frequently asked questions…
Since one of the biggest parts of role is to find answers to the questions a creative project presents, I’ve decided to answer a few of them in advance.
-
A creative producer helps shape ideas and take them from concept to delivery. The role often includes developing the creative vision, assembling collaborators, finding resources, and leading the process so a project actually gets made.
-
A cultural producer works with artists, institutions, and creative leaders to develop and deliver projects in the arts and culture sector. This can involve conceptual development, funding applications, partnerships, and assembling the right teams to make a project happen.
-
A creative content producer brings together storytelling, writing, and design to create campaigns, live events, branded content, or cultural projects. The role is about both generating ideas and managing the delivery of them.
-
In film and documentary, a creative producer works closely with writers, directors, and other collaborators to shape the story, secure partners or funding, and guide the project through development and production.
-
I work across campaigns, live events, films, and cultural projects. Sometimes that means developing the idea and writing the narrative, sometimes it’s assembling the right team to deliver it, and sometimes it’s steering the whole thing through to completion. It’s always about nurturing collaborations toward making excellent work.
-
Not at all. I only take on brilliant projects. Some of my work is a few hours of consultancy or development to unblock an idea, and some is long-term producing that takes a project from start to finish. Others require a retainer or a role that is consistent but not constant.

There isn’t one single qualification for being a creative producer. Most creative producers build their expertise through experience across writing, producing, and collaborating on projects. My background includes more than 20 years working in the creative industries, producing campaigns, live events, and artistic projects, and developing work for theatre, film, and documentary. That mix of experience is what I bring to every project.
-
You can book a free call to talk about your project. Together we’ll look at where it is now, what resources or collaborators it needs, and how I can help move it forward.
-
Yes. I can create and manage budgets and timelines for projects, ensuring resources are allocated where they’re most effective. If a project is on a larger scale, I bring in one of my trusted partners to manage the finances in more detail, while I stay focused on the creative delivery.
-
They are the person responsible for making your event happen. For me, it’s an end-to-end service which means I will help you craft the concept for your event, assemble the team, timeline, and budget to make it happen exactly as you’d wish.
How do I make your project right by your audience?

-
The heart of your story
We work closely together to capture the heart of your project. That can take a little interrogation, and some digging, but we make sure it’s built on solid foundations before we then set out to settle your project safely on them.
-
What does the project need?
This is a bit of detective work to dig up as much as we can about your creative needs. We’ll be looking your budget, your timeline, and asking who are the most fun and inspiring people we can partner with to make it great.
-
Plan, deliver, enjoy.
Great creative projects need balanced and brilliant plans. I am a geek for detail. I will meticulously carve out the path for your project right through until it’s done, and we’ll have a lot of fun in the process.
