Synopsis
Raging is built around a pivotal moment in a friendship group when two friends try to be more than that. George and Donal had a good thing going. Deep chats, passions, and a sense of humour in common… real friendship. Then one day, George wanted more. Donal didn’t but went along with it anyway, just in case he was missing out on something. It didn’t work. In fact, it was an awkward-kiss-filled, uncomfortably “like having sex with your brother” cringe-inducing romantic catastrophe.
From that point on, we see the group's unravelling as it shifts and changes in response to the grenade that hit it. George, Donal, Ishan, Cyril, Kevin, and Vincent, flounder and fathom the eternal life challenge of how to find the right balance of people you fancy but also want to be friends with. As the series unfolds, and the friends set about seeking sexual and social recompense for their grievances, we discover that the group originally bonded in a gay men’s dance group designed to promote healthy relationships and sexuality. Hidden allegiances emerge alongside more revelations of unrequited love, and they battle to find out if they even want each other in their lives anyway.
We follow them as they each self-reflect, seek new hobbies and therapy - both formally and personally - and set about discovering who you are when you turn your back on your besties. We live in the most progressive times we’ve ever known regarding being gay. We can get married, have kids, and live life to the fullest. It doesn’t mean we’re any good at it yet.
This is an anti-FRIENDS comedy-drama about a group of gay friends that have fallen out and are falling apart trying to find their way back to each other.
